Fastrack Publishing was founded in March of 2025, with the aim of creating a new magazine mostly dedicated to Western Australian rail topics.

The concept for this new magazine was developed by Jai Goodall, a rail enthusiast who so happened to have graduated high school completing a course in graphic design, providing him with the technical skills necessary to develop the magazine, thus the idea of WA Rail Enthusiast was born. But designing a magazine and actually producing one are two different things, especially since others had tried in the past to create such a magazine. 

 

The greatest challenge identified in the beginning was breaking into the Australian railway magazine market, which is home to already well established publications. Help came from the Australian Model Railway Association of Western Australia (AMRAWA) who have allowed us to set up a table at the 2025 Perth Model Railway Exhibition held in June. With over 4,200 attendees in 2024 it is hoped that this would provide the opportunity needed to break into the market.    

 

We managed to sell over 130 copies of our first issue of WA Rail Enthusiast  and since then, we have released a further two issues.
